we call her ardelia...

Welcome; we are Nina & Nate; a chef & a baker. Our story begins a few years ago when we were gifted a very precious jar of sourdough culture. This precious starter had been passed down to us from a legendary baker & she happened to fall into good hands. We call her Ardelia, she has been active & full of life for almost 20 years now!

Our micro bakery is tucked into the woods, along the shores of Greenwood Lake, in Woodbury, VT. We make rustic sourdough breads, bagels, flatbreads, & our signature sourdough cake donuts using organic wheat flour. We are a wholesale bakery, selling our artisan goods to markets & cafes throughout central VT. Our bakery is not open to the public, we have a commercially licensed kitchen which is attached to our home.

We bring creativity to the table, along with decades of culinary experience. Our commitment to local, organic sourcing means you can feel at ease enjoying our craft while also supporting the local Vermont food economy. We are currently working with a long list of local farms for our wheat, rye, eggs, maple syrup, fruits & veggies, honey and grass fed beef tallow.

When we say micro- we mean it! Our space is 10 feet by 30 feet- 300 sq. ft. let’s say cozy. Due to the small square footage of our space, we cannot offer anything that is truly gluten free; every surface has a dusting of flour. Allergens; our recipes include wheat, dairy & sometimes grass fed tallow or ghee. Please ask if you have allergies or food restrictions.

Do you cater? Yes we can! We have a playful & unique offering we call our “grazing table” to entice your guests with bites & schmears made from only the best local ingredients along with copious amounts of sourdough & cheese!
